We'd like to say a huge thank you to all those who backed THE LOST ROMANCE OF ELIZABETH LINLEY on Kickstarter. We now have the budget to forge ahead with production, with further funding for distribution to international festivals next year.
The three-minute film is an animated portrait of one of the 18th century's greatest celebrities: Elizabeth Linley. We are combining the painterly style of Thomas Gainsborough with highly digital techniques to create something unexpected and beautiful. We are delighted to be working with cult London band The Unrecorded, who have composed the soundtrack, something contemporary that captures Elizabeth's melancholy but defiant spirit.
The project launches BRILLIANA, a non-profit collective of digital artists based at London Animation. The group reflects the diverse skills needed to produce cinema-quality computer animation, and includes: Leo Crane (UK), Emanuela Gatto (Italy), Andrew Hayes (UK), Evelina Jeliazkova (Bulgaria), Arda Kaya (Turkey), Iuliia Markina (Russia), Niovi Phinopolou (Cyprus), Jonathan Toomey (UK), Colin Tunnicliffe (UK), Archit Vazé (India).
The Lost Romance of Elizabeth Linley will be ready for festival and online distribution in early 2015. Meanwhile, thanks to support from the British Council and BFI, we will be promoting it at the prestigious Anima Mundi festival in Brazil.
We will be creating a project webpage, but in the meantime, you can see more information on our Kickstarter pages.
